Financial planners looking to harness the power of the internet and social media have a new suite of services at hand with the launch today of Humble Services for Financial Planners (Humble Services).
Created by The Humble Investor, which launched a consumer-facing finance website humblesavers.com late last year, Humble Services is designed to help planners optimise their own websites, create an online presence that ranks well with search engines and integrate web marketing and social media strategies into their broader marketing plans.
The Humble Investor’s Managing Director, Colin Williams, says that with over 74,000 Australian searches every month on the term 'Financial Planner,' over 40,000 on the term 'Financial Adviser' and millions more relating to money and investment[1], the internet presents a huge opportunity for financial planners.
“The problem is that many planners do not know how to optimise their websites or use social media so that they rank well in consumer internet searches,” he says. “It’s pretty safe to say that most financial planners probably aren’t getting even the tip of the iceberg of internet search inquiries. We believe the best way for consumers to achieve the financial security they are looking for is to consult qualified financial planners, so we’ve made it our mission to help them get a fair share of those inquiries.”
Humble Services helps planners optimise their websites and internet search rankings, while providing the kind of content that attracts consumers. Humble Services also helps planners to expand their strategies while improving communication to clients and prospects.
“The websites and social media strategies of many financial services companies, both large and small, don’t have the ‘pull’ factor,” Mr Williams said. “When you create engaging, up-to-date and authoritative material, it becomes easier to pull clients to your business. In fact, it’s a game-changer.”
The Humble Investor’s consumer finance website humblesavers.com, which provides money tips, calculators, tools and a guide for finding a good financial planner, has already attracted round 7,000 unique visitors and a loyal following on Twitter and Facebook within only a few months of launch.
“We want to share our knowledge around how we did that with planners,” Mr Williams said. “Our ultimate aim is to create a portal which is the first port of call for all things financial and in so doing improve the financial literacy of consumers and help build their relationships with financial planners. We expect Humble Services to become a hub for financial planners and associated businesses to network with each other and consumers.”
Financial planners who subscribe to the service at www.humblesavers.com/financialplanners will receive a comprehensive guide to market their business on the web including how to use social media platforms. This guide has been written specifically for Australian financial planners.
