Senator Mathias Cormann, Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation, will frontline the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) National Roadshow, which kicks off in Hobart on Tuesday, 17 July.
The Commissioner of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Peter Kell, will also speak at the Roadshow on the implications of FOFA, including Codes of Conduct. He will also discuss the results of ASIC’s latest Shadow Shopper exercise.
AFA CEO, Richard Klipin said, “We are delighted that both Senator Cormann and Mr Kell have agreed to join us on tour. It’s a time of great change in the industry and it’s fabulous to have speakers of this calibre prepared to get up close and personal with our members.”
The 2012 programme, which will be rolled out across the country, is the AFA’s best yet and includes an outstanding line-up from across the industry, according to AFA President, Brad Fox.
“The theme for this year’s Roadshow is ‘Shaping the Future on our Pathways to Excellence’, and a diverse range of speakers will be sharing their insights,” he said. “It’s all about showcasing excellence in our industry.
“We believe the Roadshow is a fantastic opportunity for the financial advice community to get together to learn and to share and connect with industry leaders and with their peers. We look forward to welcoming AFA members and our colleagues across the country.”
